| Biography Personal Biography I was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 26, 1962. I have two brothers, David and Robert, and one sister, Pam. I married Dave Vosburg of Mankato on November 29, 1996 on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. I have no children to date but I am Auntie Dar to Lauren Olivia and Emily Anne on my side of the family and to 28 nieces and nephews on Dave’s side. My hobbies include boating with Dave, reading, biking, and lifting weights. I am also very active in 8-ball pool. I compete in many tournaments throughout the year. I have been to International Tournaments in Las Vegas eight times and placed 4th in 1996. Professional Biography I graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1980. I moved to Mankato and attended Gustavus Adolphus College from 1980-1982 and Mankato State University from 1982-1984. I stayed in Mankato until 1988 and worked various jobs such as waitress, bartender, and Manager of Rocky Rococo’s. I then moved to Eden Prairie, MN where I was General Manager of three Best Cleaners dry cleaning stores owned by my parents. I relocated back to Mankato in 1996 after I was married. Real Estate Background I chose Real Estate because I knew that moving to Mankato would mean starting over. Also, my father was a Real Estate Agent until the early 1980’s. He has been an entrepreneur his whole life (he always has his eyes open for new ideas) and some of his ideas and marketing skills thankfully rubbed off onto me. I had thought about purchasing a dry cleaners or opening a new one but I decided that I probably wouldn’t be able to find a partner who would work as many hours as I would so it probably wouldn’t work out. Also, I was tired of dealing with employee issues. I started thinking about Real Estate or the loan business but at that time I was still single and it was too scary to think about not having an immediate income. I finally got the guts to do it after I got married and obtained my Real Estate License in April of 1997. I was too afraid of failure to quit my part time job so I didn’t get going right away. It took me over 6 months before I received my first paycheck from Real Estate. I started out with Hiniker Realty. They also owned Hiniker Homes and they built my house. I moved to Midwest Realty in July of 1998 because they were a much larger company. I had 21 transactions in my first year as a Realtor. This was while I was still working another job. In 1999, I had 31 transactions. This was my first year as a full time Realtor. This was also the year I obtained my GRI status (Graduate of Realtor Institute). Less than 5% of Realtors hold this designation. In May of 2000, I decided that I wanted to be more in control of how I ran my business, so I made the move to RE/MAX Dynamic Associates. In 2002, I obtained my CRS status (Certified Residential Specialist). As with the GRI, less than 5% of Realtors hold this designation. I obtained my Brokers license in December of 2003 and decided to go into business for myself with my friend and fellow Realtor, Crystal Herrmann. We opened up Realty Executives River Valley in February of 2004. On a Personal Note I enjoy this business because I enjoy the challenge of finding just the right home for someone. My most unusual request to date was a customer who wanted an older home with its own ghost! I also enjoy being self-employed because I control my own destiny. I LOVE MY JOB AND I DO IT WELL! |
